Abstract
Tuberous sclerosis complex is an uncommon genetic disease affecting various organs, including skin and brain. Mutation of TSC1 and TSC2 leading to dysregulation of mTOR pathway is considered the mainstay of disease mechanism. The case of psoriasis with tuberous sclerosis complex is rarely reported, so that little is known about the relationship between two disease entities. Herein, we report a case of a 41-year old female patient diagnosed with psoriasis and tuberous sclerosis complex. We suggest these two diseases may share one common pathogenesis, mTOR pathway, and targeting the upstream regulator of mTOR pathway could control these two diseases¡¯activity. This case report highlights the possible relationship of psoriasis and tuberous sclerosis complex, and further studies are needed to provide additional treatment options for patients suffering from these two diseases.
